
Dr Yue is an expert in biochemistry and specialized in research of diabetes. His field of study includes complication of diabetes, blood vessel diseases due to diabetes and genetic transformation. Dr Yue graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom in 1985 and he subsequently obtained his PhD degree in Biochemistry at the same university in 1989. He conducted his post-doctoral research at the Universities of Leicester and Manchester. Before joining the Hong Kong Baptist University, Dr. Yue was a Lecturer in Clinical Biochemistry at the Queen's University of Belfast, United Kingdom. Dr Yue is currently lecturing biomedical subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry in our School.
With his increasing interest in Chinese medicine, Dr. Yue subsequently pursued further study, and got a bachelor degree in Chinese Medicine at the Hong Kong Baptist University. He is now a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner. The training has expanded Dr. Yue scope of research and his projects now includes the use of Chinese herbs and formulations in the treatment of diabetic complications, and the basis of the mode of actions of the herbs, using proteomic and metabolomic approaches.
