19 December 2014

The University has recently received a donation of HK$2 million from Dr Henry Cheung for the establishment of the Professor Martha Cheung Chinese Medicine Research Fund. The donation will support the research projects of the School of Chinese Medicine, with the aim of contributing to the development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.

In recognition of the donor’s generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Dr Henry Cheung and Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 18 December 2014.

The research fund was established in fond memory of the late Professor Martha Cheung, who was former Chair Professor in Translation at the Department of English Language and Literature and former Director of the Centre for Translation. She had served the University for 18 years and was highly respected by colleagues and students.
