SCM received a donation of HK$200,000 from Xiao Pen Jing Kou Wei Tang Hotel Management Pty Limited to develop a database for seasonal food therapy, with Dr. Zhang Shiping, Associate Professor of Teaching and Research Division (CMTR), serving as the principal investigator of the project. A cheque presentation ceremony was held on 12 July.
Dr. Zhang said that the data for seasonal food therapy will be used in conjunction with information such as body constitution and sub-health condition to come up with personalised food therapy advice for the general public through the use of mobile internet. The establishment of the database will lay a solid foundation for future development of a mobile phone application for Chinese medicine food therapy.
