Plants used in the preparation of Chinese herbal tea, which were put on display by School of Chinese Medicine students, won the Special Award for Unique Features at the Hong Kong Flower Show.
The booth was run by the Society of Chinese Materia Medica with the aim of enhancing the public knowledge of and interest in medicinal plants.
The Flower Show was held at the Victoria Park in Causeway Bay.
The society said Chinese herbal tea has a long history and is of great social value to the South China region due to the hot and humid weather. It is a beverage unique to the region and is a popular drink among the people of Hong Kong. Through the exhibition, the students wish to interest the public in learning more about Chinese herbs while drinking Chinese herbal tea.
