Dr ZHANG Shiping

Dr. Zhang received his bachelor degree in Chinese medicine from the Guangzhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, now the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1987. He then went to Australia and study in the University of Sydney and obtained his Ph.D degree in neuroscience in 1993. He worked at the University of New South Wales as a post-doctoral research associate in sensory physiology, and then joined the University of Technology, Sydney as a lecturer in acupuncture in 1996. In 1998, he moved to the Hong Kong Baptist University and took part in establishing the first Chinese Medicine undergraduate program in Hong Kong. Dr. Zhang current research areas include clinical trail study of acupuncture efficacy and pain management. He is also a seasoned practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He is on the editorial committee of World Journal of Acupuncture-Moxibustion.
