On 12 June, Dr Li Hong, Principal Lecturer of CMTR, led a group of 25 Year 3 Chinese medicine students to participate in the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Services Outreach” event in Zaoci Lane, Jinniu District, Chengdu, together with students from the College of Clinical Medicine and the College of Acupuncture-Moxibustion and Tuina at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This collaborative community initiative brought together students from Sichuan and Hong Kong. Chinese medicine practitioners provided free medical consultations to local residents, with students assisting in tuina massage, auricular acupressure, and distributing herbal sachets. The event also featured a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cultural exhibition, which included display panels and specimen demonstrations that helped to enhance public understanding of TCM. The participating students gained valuable insights into community-based TCM services and found the hands-on experience rewarding, with many expressing interests in participating in future outreach activities.
