The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chu to establish an endowment fund in support of the “Stanley and Annie Chu Chinese Medicine Scholarship”. This esteemed Scholarship will be awarded annually to four Year 6 undergraduate students in SCM who have demonstrated outstanding performance in their clinical internships and specialty studies, commencing from the 2025/26 academic year. Each awardee will receive HK$10,000 to foster their continued pursuit of academic and professional excellence.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chu, Honorary Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, are staunch supporters of the University, including sponsorship of equipment for the SCM’s Chinese Medicine Museum. In September, Mr. Chu visited the School together with Dr the Hon Lawrence Fung and Mr. Leong Ka-cha, co-founders of The Musketeers Education and Culture Charitable Foundation Limited, to further enhance collaboration and mutual understanding.
Professor Li Min, Dean of Chinese Medicine, expressed her sincere gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Chu for their generous support. She remarked that the scholarship not only motivates Chinese Medicine students of HKBU to strive for excellence but also enhances the University’s comprehensive student support services. Currently, HKBU offers a diverse range of scholarships to Chinese Medicine undergraduates, continually attracting and nurturing talented students as they pursue careers in the discipline.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chu.
