18 January 2026
On 18 January, Professor Li Min, Dean of Chinese Medicine, led a group of dedicated runners from the School to take part in the “Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026”, putting the philosophy of healthy living in Chinese medicine into action.
Professor Li has participated in the 10‑kilometre race for the third consecutive year, setting a new personal best this year. After the race, she shared, “Running isn’t about competing for speed; it’s about finding your own rhythm. This is much like the essence of Chinese medicine, which goes beyond curing illness and serves as a guide to healthy living.” Through the marathon, she hopes to inspire a healthy and positive attitude towards life in the wider community.
Dr. Kennedy Y H Wong, Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, along with Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice‑Chancellor, and members of the Senior Management were present to show their encouragement. The route was filled with enthusiastic support from staff, students, alumni and cheerleaders, all reflecting HKBU’s unity and vibrant energy as it marks the 70th anniversary.
Chinese medicine practitioners and student teams from the School provided on-site post‑race care and recovery support, which demonstrated the compassion and professionalism of HKBU Chinese medicine. Next year, we look forward to uniting even more members, because “Together, we run further”.
