HKBU’s six subjects rank in global top 200
SCM drives international excellence in Medical & Life Sciences

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) continues to strengthen its standing in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, with six subject areas now ranked among the world’s top 200. Among them, the School of Chinese Medicine has excelled in the “Medical and Health” and “Life Sciences” categories, standing alongside many of the world’s leading institutions with top-level biomedical subjects. The achievement stands as a testament to the School’s remarkable strength and far-reaching influence in cross-disciplinary teaching and research.

Professor Li Min, Dean of Chinese Medicine, said, “The ranking results are truly encouraging and reflect the School’s notable contributions across teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. We will continue to support the University’s strategic plan and actively promote innovation and internationalisation in Chinese medicine research. As global recognition of Chinese medicine grows, we look forward to the introduction of dedicated subject rankings for Chinese medicine in the future, which would more comprehensively reflect our expertise and prestige in Chinese medicine higher education and research.”

With the support from the National Government and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the School will further strengthen collaboration with industry, advance the standardisation and internationalisation of Chinese medicine, and support the University in reaching new milestones on the global higher education stage.
