HKBU School of Chinese Medicine joined hands with Yan Chai Hospital and the Hospital Authority to launch the "Yan Chai Hospital - Hong Kong Baptist University Clinical Centre for Training and Research in Chinese Medicine (West Kowloon)" The Centre was officially opened today (21 July) to provide Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community. It brings the number of the School of Chinese Medicine clinics to a total of 10.
Officiating at the ceremony were Dr. York Chow, Secretary for Food and Health; Dr. Nancy Tung, Cluster Chief Executive of Kowloon West Cluster of Hospital Authority; Mr. Wilfred Ng, Chairman of Yan Chai Hospital Board; and Professor Franklin Luk, Acting President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU.
In his speech, Professor Luk expressed the desire to see more Chinese medicine clinics in operation through collaboration between the government, the University and non-profit organisations. He said HKBU would continue to give its full support to the government in the development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Chow said the Centre would provide quality Chinese medicine services to the community and he believed it would also be a great help in boosting the development of Chinese medicine in the territory.
