Dr. and Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Chinese Medicine Postgraduate Scholarships

Purposes and Objectives

With the aim of providing better support for the graduates of the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) and to nurture quality professionals in Chinese medicine for Hong Kong, this Scholarship was set up to sponsor graduates of the two undergraduate programmes of SCM who wish to pursue the taught or research postgraduate programmes offered by the School.

Funding Details
  • The Scholarship supports graduates of the Bachelor of Chinese Medicine and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomedical Science as well as Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) in Chinese Medicine of SCM in pursuing advanced studies in either taught or research postgraduate programmes at their alma mater.
  • Each scholarship recipient will receive an award of up to HK$150,000 per year for a maximum of two consecutive years, and the recipient shall not receive any other types of financial assistance in support of the same programme at the same time.
  • A maximum of three outstanding graduates will be awarded the scholarship each year.
  • All applications will be reviewed by the SCM Executive Committee. The decision of the Committee shall be final.
  • SCM Executive Committee reserves the right not to award any scholarship if no suitable applicants could be identified.
Applicant Eligibility
  1. Applicants should be Graduates of 2025 or 2024 of the Bachelor of Chinese Medicine and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomedical Science or Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) in Chinese Medicine of SCM;
  2. Applicants should have attained outstanding academic results with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 or above on graduation; and
  3. Applicants should have applied for admission to one of the taught or research postgraduate programmes offered by SCM.
Application and Review Process

Applicants should submit a written application via email to the Division of Continuing and Professional Education of SCM by 12 noon, 30 June 2025.

Upon receiving the applications, SCM Executive Committee will review and make the funding decision. Applicants will be notified of the results in August 2025.
